Camramble – Saturday, Sept. 3rd:

Meeting point is The Hearty Goodfellow, Southwell at 11am where we can have liquid refreshment before commencing the first leg across fields to the Wagon and Horses at Halam.

Following a visit and a pint the 2nd leg is to The Old Reindeer at Edingley.

The final stretch is alongside a brook followed by the home straight along the Southwell Trail straight into the recently refurbished Final Whistle.

In total the walk is approximately 9.5 miles.  If this seems a bit ambitious then there is opportunity to miss a leg (travel by local bus to the next pub) or return to Southwell (again by bus).  The bus times are below.

For those of you who live at Newark the bus departs the Wharf at 10.20 and the last return bus is from the Minster at 18.38. If walkers want to stay in Southwell longer then taxi-share will be an option.  Dogs are welcome and we will make enquiries regarding the cabs that will take a dog on board.

For those of you who are not already members of CAMRA this is an opportunity to join up if you are interested.

Finally one of the members is going to do something a little daft to raise money for two nominated charities; Newark Hospice (Beaumond House) and Cystic Fibrosis.  What is this daft thing?  Chris Hickman, aka SCARY, will be completing the ramble wearing his boots and a lycra mankini and trust me, that will be scary!  Anyone wishing to donate can pledge now or give freely on the day into the collection buckets.

There is a bus back to Southwell at 26 minutes past the hour at the Turnpike, Halam and 24 minutes past the hour at Station Road Edingley.
