Oldershaw Brewery Visit.

A visit to Oldershaw Brewery has been arranged for the evening of Thursday 19th April from 7pm for a couple of hours.  The minibus will pick up at Just Beer Micropub at approximately 6.30pm.  The minibus cost will be £6.00 per head (payable on the evening please).  This is based on a maximum of 15 persons.  There will be no admission fee and brewery owner Kathy Britton has kindly offered to put on some nibbles. Springhead Holds Beer Festival. 2

Springhead Brewery will be holding its 1st Annual Beer Festival on Thursday 26th to Sunday 29th April at the Robin Hood site in Laneham, Retford, Notts. POTY 2012 presentation.

Saturday 18th February saw the presentation to this year’s Newark CAMRA Pub of the Year winner, Just Beer Micropub. A buffet of sandwiches, nibbles and a specially made pork pie donated by Porters of Bridge Street, was provided to soak up the good ale on offer; Five beers were on the bar, all priced at £2 per pint between 1 and 5 o’clock. Bradford Beer Fest and Brewery visit.

The annual pilgrimage to Bradford has been organised for Saturday, 25th Feb, details as follows: Coach from The Wharf at approx 0900 and will pick up and drop off on way to and from the venues. First Beer Festival at Final Whistle.

The Final Whistle, 25 Station Road, Southwell, is holding its first beer festival from Thursday 22nd through to Sunday 25th September. Up to 22 Champion Beers of Britain, 10 of the award winning beers from 2011, including the Supreme Champion Beer, Silver and Bronze runners up. Also 12 award-winning beers from previous years. Meeting point is The Hearty Goodfellow, Southwell at 11am where we can have liquid refreshment before commencing the first leg across fields to the Wagon and Horses at Halam. Following a visit and a pint the 2nd leg is to The Old Reindeer at Edingley. The final stretch is alongside a brook followed by the home straight along the Southwell Trail straight into the recently refurbished Final Whistle. Beerfest at Bramley.

This weekend 9th/10th of July, The Bramley Apple Inn, Southwell will be holding a Beer Festival to celebrate the opening of their new beer garden. They will be offering up to 20 different real ales at only £2.50 a pint, plus real ciders.
