New beer initiative planned for Newark.

An idea was suggested by a local publican recently that a ‘Newark Beer Collective’ be set up with a view to putting Newark well and truly on the UK’s Real Ale map, tentatively named ‘RACOON’ – The Real Ale COllective Of Newark. Newark’s Real Ale Guide takes top award.

The Real Ale Guide to Newark, Southwell and District, co-published by CAMRA and local publishers Capital Media has won the Local Guide of the Year Award for 2012 at this year’s CAMRA Annual General Meeting. Beer festival T shirts now available

T shirts for the 17th Newark Beer Festival are now available. Black, with the Festival logo on the front and the slogan ‘Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder’ on the back, they come in M, L, XL and XXL and are priced at £12 each. They are obtainable from the festival itself, or if you want one before, they can be picked up from Just Beer Micropub.
