Your intrepid reporters have just returned from a guided tour of the soon-to-open Newark Brewery. The old maltings on William Street have most of the original features intact and is a magnificent housing for the brewery, which will be the first brewery in Newark since the closure of the Maple Leaf (Winthorpe Road, now demolished) brew pub plant in 1986. New local brewery in the pipeline 1

I have just returned from a visit to the site of a new brewery in our LocAle area. The yet-to-be named brewery is being set up by Rob Neil of Maypole Brewery and his business partner, Gary Hobbs. The brewery is to be situated in the old dog kennels building which is part of Hardwick Village, in Clumber Park.
