Castle Rock are investing around £600,000 to treble their output capacity, currently running at 110 Barrels per week, by doubling the size of the brewery. Story appears on the BBC News website.
I have just returned from a visit to the site of a new brewery in our LocAle area. The yet-to-be named brewery is being set up by Rob Neil of Maypole Brewery and his business partner, Gary Hobbs. Springhead have just gone through a re-branding exercise. I spotted their new pump clips a couple of nights ago. I must say they look a bit cheap-and-cheerful compared to the old, heavy, 3D porcelain ones but I do like the fact that a short beer description is on the clip. Interested to hear your comments.
After Marston’s MD, Stephen Oliver’s unwarrented outburst about CAMRA members, SIBA and even their own licensees, I think we should boycott Marston’s beers. His article in the pub trade paper The Morning Advertiser, entitled ‘It’s hard to keep the gobby hobbits happy’ calls CAMRA members ‘beardy weirdies’ hohoho, how original, and ‘sandal-clad, whisker-stroking stormtroopers’.
