Don’t forget Newark’s alternative beer festival, the BeerMuda Triangle starts tomorrow and runs through ’til Sunday. Full details can be read in our previous post. We hope you can support these five cracking local pubs sometime over the weekend and hope to see you there.

Ride or Ramble in the Vale of Belvoir.

The trail runs 1st – 4th August and 16 pubs plus one off-licence in the branch area will be participating, featuring at least one India Pale Ale. Starting from Newark Castle Railway Station at 09.00 hours for Lowdham (trains are not running, but there is a replacement bus service). Nigel Brown – A Tribute. 1

Sadly this year’s  Newark Beer Festival is taking place without festival stalwart Nigel Brown, who passed away last October. Nigel worked tirelessly along-side myself, backstage and behind the scenes for many years. His life-long interest in rock music made him a familiar face around the local music scene, his infectious enthusiasm rubbing off on many that came into contact with him. Go Bellistic with the Beer Belles at Newark Beer Festival!

Seven ‘Beer Belles’ from the Newark branch of CAMRA (The Campaign for Real Ale) were up at silly O’clock to travel to Lincoln Green Brewing Company Ltd, Hucknall to brew a one off beer, especially for Newark Beer Festival. Bikes, CAMRA, Action!

A message from Tracey, our Social Secretary: I am planning a pub cycle ride on Saturday, 6th April starting at 11.00 hours at the Wharf, Newark (outside the Castle Barge). The route will incorporate visiting four pubs and meeting the bus-riding members at the Final Whistle at Southwell where we shall support the presentation of their Certificate of Merit, which will be taking place at 3pm.
